So Sunday I bought the game CitiesXL since not only do I enjoy strategy games but I also enjoy building cities as well. I wound up having to buy it through digital download since Target did not have it in store or even listed on their website. That was fine. Bought the game and downloaded the three files that I needed. Once that was done, I sat down and installed the game. That was the simple part. Once I loaded the game, it said it needed to download and install updates before I could play it. Fine. I let the game download its updates and install them. Except when it gets to the last frickin update, the game crashes and the only error message that I get is that the game has stopped working and Windows is going to close it. No other information. Not in error logs, not in the message, not in dxdiag – NOTHING. So I uninstalled the game and tried re-installing thinking something was corrupt. No, that wasn’t it. Next S tried to download it and install it on his PC. And guess what – it runs FINE on Windows 7 and his PC but will not run on my PC with Vista. So I put a support ticket in. And waited a couple days to hear back from them. In fact, I didn’t receive a response until I demanded a refund for the game I haven’t been able to play. And now I’m getting lots of help. But the game still will not play. Someone suggested that maybe my PC wasn’t fast enough to play it. But I have this PC and trust me when I say it meets all their requirements and then some.
So the next step is to upgrade to Windows 7 since it runs it and my PC was really built for it. Except for the fact that the VeriSign encryption code that I need is on this computer and all my efforts to extract it comes up to NOTHING. It will not come out of FireFox for anything. S and I have tried both VeriSigns steps and Windows steps and all we get is errors. Bloody hell. Maybe the computer heard me cursing Vista or something. But still – not only will the game not run right but I cannot upgrade to 7 because I cannot get the encryption certificate I need out of this PC. And I am not jumping through the hoops again to get a new certificate. I don’t have time to wait with school. UGH!
And speaking of school, I should go and watch a class or two tonight.

You know, I had a feeling that I was going to get waylaid from everything but I really do not know why. It seems like for the past month, I really haven’t had an interest in doing anything. And I do not know why. I don’t think I’m depressed and that’s something that I know I have to keep an eye out for. Of course, I could be slightly depressed and not even realize it. Or at least I was. I’m starting to find interest in things again. Last night I did homework and tonight I did KGB for an hour. I would do more then an hour but I do not like signing up for long periods of time in case something comes up. Now I am going to do some family tree research and at nine I am going to get off the computer and write a letter for an hour.
So two weeks ago, dad and I took a trip up to Columbia County, PA to see if we could find some information on our ancestors. His dad was born up there and that is where the Billig’s primarily are from in our family. We did manage to find some information; most we had but we did get pictures of grave stones from a few of the Billig’s. This is the first time that we found the gravestones and it was exciting. We still have a lot more work to do but on the Billig side, we are doing decent. The biggest part we have to do is verify that information that we have and see if we can find anything like stories and such about the family. We’ll probably have to go up again later when we find more information but that is to be expected.
At this point, I think I will try and find information on the Reynolds line and the Wilson line since we know next to nothing about them.

i really am Windows Bitch. When I said that to S in the car this morning, I was metaphorically speaking but as I sit here typing away on my cell phone with Windows Mobile, i realize that Windows has made me its bitch. i won’t even cojnsider an iPhone; aside from the need to switch phone carriers; because that would mean parting with Windows. And if there’s one thing I hate more then flying it’s Apple. Seriously, sometimes I wonder if I really am crazy and not just eccentric.
but I regress. Incase you cannot tell, I have a new cell phone. And I am in love. Sure the phone has task manager and will probably crash at the most inoppritune moment but hey it’s Windows…I expect it. I am sitting here writing on WordPress with no problem. Though I should probably be sleeping since I have to be up in six hours. Someone please pry the phone from my hands! Because I’m also technologies bitch.

Genealogy is an interesting hobby to embark upon. While it’s not the easiest, it is fun and can be amazing when you finally track down an elusive family member. It is more difficult when you really do not know much about your family history. I do have last names though and so I have to come up with a plan of action. My first goal is to try and find out all the countries that my family traveled to the US from.

Well, apparently most of my family comes from either Germany or from the British Isles. Actually, at this point, as far as I can tell, my family is from Germany, England, Scotland and Ireland and that’s about it. Of course, as I work on it more, I am hoping to find some other countries. But that may not happen.
And wow, does time just seem to get away from me. I am sure I had a lot more to write about but its time for me to go to bury myself under a mountain of blankets and pillows and not surface again until morning. Oh who am I kidding, I’m going to go listen to my iPod and hope I fall asleep before midnight tonight.
